About New Orleans
New Orleans is a historic and cultural experience unlike any other. The city has attracted millions of visitors due to its cultural riches, sensual indulgences and unparalleled service. With all of its facets, a New Orleans experience is never anything but completely authentic. The city's marvelous eccentricities are born from a rich heritage, respectfully and indelibly woven into the fabric of everyday life here. New Orleans doesn't act a part for its visitors; it simply welcomes everyone with open arms to a world all its own.
Most visitors to New Orleans, begin their sightseeing at the French Quarter (Vieux Carre. This is the oldest part of the city: a mix of clubs, souvenir shops, restaurants, voodoo vendors, and beautiful homes. Some of the most attractive cast-iron balconies can be seen along Royal Street. Royal Street is known for its antique shops and art galleries. Bourbon Street and its cross streets house most of the tourist bars and clubs, but the place where most people head for music in the French Quarter is in the area around North Peters, Decatur and North Rampart streets.
